MUMS.org – Custom Website Redesign & Interactive Educational Platform

The MUMS.org website was much more than a traditional redesign—it was a complete digital transformation. The original website consisted primarily of legacy HTML files with no modern content management system, requiring the entire site to be reconstructed while preserving years of valuable educational content and organizational history.

Rather than simply rebuilding the existing website, the objective was to create a modern, responsive platform that would be easier to manage, faster to navigate, and more engaging for families, educators, and visitors. Every page was carefully redesigned to improve usability, accessibility, and overall user experience while maintaining the mission and identity of the organization.

One of the most complex aspects of the project was developing a comprehensive image archive. The organization had accumulated thousands of high-resolution images documenting educational models, events, and historical exhibits. To make this vast collection both searchable and user-friendly, I designed and developed a custom filterable gallery that allows visitors to quickly browse images by model class and category while preserving the quality of the original photography. The result is an intuitive media library that transforms an overwhelming collection of images into a valuable educational resource.

Another major focus was reimagining the Kids Corner. The original website relied heavily on printable paper activities and educational resources. Instead of simply converting these materials into digital downloads, I created a fresh interactive experience designed specifically to increase engagement and encourage learning through play.

One of the highlights of the project was taking a paper-based educational game and completely redeveloping it as an interactive online experience. This involved redesigning the gameplay mechanics while preserving the educational objectives of the original activity. The finished game provides children with a fun, interactive way to explore and learn while remaining accessible across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

The completed website successfully blends modern web technologies with thoughtful user experience design, providing MUMS.org with a scalable, future-ready platform that preserves decades of educational content while introducing new ways for visitors to explore, learn, and engage.
